Betting is entertainment with a cost attached, and the cost is real. The tools on this page exist so that the cost stays a decision rather than an accident.
The controls available
All of these live in account settings and take effect immediately.
| Control | What it does | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit limit | Caps deposits per day, week or month | Lowering: at once. Raising: after a cooling-off period |
| Session time-out | Ends the session after a set time | Immediately |
| Self-exclusion | Closes access for a chosen period | Immediately, and cannot be reversed early |
| Reality check | Interrupts play with an elapsed-time notice | Immediately |
Setting a limit before you need one
A limit set in advance is a decision made calmly. A limit set after a losing session is a reaction, and the cooling-off period on raising one exists precisely because that reaction runs both ways.
Signs worth taking seriously
- Betting more than you planned, or more often than you planned.
- Chasing a loss with a larger stake than the one that lost.
- Borrowing to fund a deposit, or hiding the amount from someone.
- Playing to escape something rather than to enjoy the game.
If any of that is familiar, set a deposit limit or a self-exclusion now, before the next session. Support can apply either one for you if that is easier.
Common questions
Open account settings and choose a daily, weekly or monthly cap. Lowering a limit takes effect at once; raising one waits out a cooling-off period.
